October Workshops Back
Friday 6th October 10am to 3pm

At this class we will be making heart pillows which will either be distributed by our local Cancer Research shop or sold by the shop to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. You can also make cushions for friends and family who are dealing with breast cancer. The heart pillow is designed to ease pain and help reduce swelling when it is placed under the arm and it can also be turned upside down and placed on the shoulder to reduce the pressure of a seatbelt when in the car. If you have some nice bright cheerful fabrics you can bring to make pillows that would be great but we will have fabrics and stuffing available on the day. Just bring yourself and your machine if you can. The pillows are made from a simple pattern so you don’t need to be an expert to make them and hopefully we can get lots of pillows made on the day. We also have a pattern for a drainage bag cover which is a flat bag used to keep the drains in place and to provide some privacy for patients. So many woman are affected by breast cancer so lets do our best to support Cancer Research UK.
KANTHA - £30
With Ann Campbell – Sunday 8th October 10am to 4pm

This is a fun, technique based workshop. No sewing machine is required as the Kantha stitches are all made by hand with perle or embroidery cotton. You can also use variegated threads to create interesting effects. Bring a design of your own choice with you, a flower, butterfly, animal, anything will do! We can work from photos or postcards. We will start by trying out some stitches on your practice piece before going onto your design.
