February Workshops Back
LINUS QUILT DAYS - FREE
Friday 3rd February 10am to 3pm
Project Linus UK is a wonderful charity staffed by volunteers who give quilts andLinus Quilt knitted blankets to sick and traumatised babies, children and teenagers. We would like to support their work in West Lothian with our free Linus quilt days. These days are completely free, we will supply all the fabrics and wadding etc if you can please provide your time and expertise to make some quilts for Linus UK. We have some simple quilt patterns such as nine patch and rail fence and we also have sewing machines for you to use, or you can bring your own. Lets get stitching for Project Linus!

FREE MACHINE QUILTING WITH ESTHER ANDERSON - £25
Saturday 4th February 10.30 to 1pm
Requirements
This is a class for beginners or anyone who wants to get started with free motionFree Machine Quilt quilting. Free motion quilting is where we drop the feed dogs on our sewing machine so that we are in control of the stitch direction and length. With free motion quilting you can stitch in any direction and make lots of different patterns and it is a great way to add texture and interest to your quilting. At this class Esther will show you some simple patterns to get you started and cover the basic techniques of free motion work as well as lots of troubleshooting tips. This is a great way to get started and build your confidence with free motion quilting.
 
TESSELLATION QUILT - £30
With Ann Campbell – Sunday 12th February 10am to 4pm
Requirements
This is a great workshop for using up those fabrics you wish you had never purchased. We will make a small panel (approx 18 x 18) but if you want to make a larger piece then bring more material. Looks great yet so simple. Don’t believe me then come and try the technique for yourself! You will be hooked with the effect that can be achieved quickly and easily. Basic sewing machine required.
 
START TO PATCHWORK BY MACHINE - £25
With Esther Anderson
Friday 24th February 10am to 1pm
Requirements
This is a half day class for beginners where you will be shown how to cut simple shapes such as strips and squares accurately using a rotary cutter, mat and ruler. Esther will then show you how to piece accurately and quickly to make a simple Nine patch cushion with an envelope back. All machine sewn, this class is a great way to get started with quick and simple patchwork.
